_Young Metro trusts me_ -Rece Davis. Tha

I was born in raised right outside of Atlanta, Georgia in the city of Marietta. After attending North Cobb Christian School, I graduated in 2015 and went to The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. There, I would spend four great years, graduating in May of 2019. It was at Alabama where my love for journalism was truly found.

I decided TV news was the career I wanted to go into when I shadowed family friend, Ted Hall, in Knoxville. At WVLT I looked at all aspects of the newsroom to see first hand how fun this career can be.

Beginning in 2017, I began working at WVUA 23 News in Tuscaloosa where I would edit, report, and shoot stories for the station. That's when I fell in love with it. Being able to tell the stories of people in the community felt so rewarding, but at the same time a great responsibility. I have always been curious, and now being in a position to get to the bottom of a story that doesn't make sense, or simplify something for the public, makes this career unbeatable. I have seen many friends burn out of the industry, and I can confidently say there is nothing I would rather be doing then reporting and anchoring the news. I truly hope I'll have the opportunity to do that for a very long time.
